PediBOOST (Building Opioid Use Disorder and Overdose Support and Training for Pediatrics)

Emergency departments (EDs) are increasingly seeing adolescents who have experienced an opioid overdose, but their staff often lack the clinical guidance and supports needed to manage care for a younger age group. The American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) will help 20 EDs develop and implement adolescent-specific protocols and policies for preventing overdoses, including increasing naloxone and buprenorphine provision. This project builds on two previous grants to ACEP that advanced access to OUD treatment for adults in EDs across the U.S.
