The Martinsburg Initiative: Prevent. Build. Empower.

Based in Martinsburg, WV, the Martinsburg Initiative collaborates with law enforcement officers, schools, health care providers, and other community organizations to provide substance use prevention programs and to mitigate adverse childhood experiences. The goal is to promote healthy development and resilience among youth and their families. FORE funding will enable the organization to expand efforts throughout Berkeley County, primarily by funding the salary of a full-time social worker who will train educators and parents as well as screen students and make referrals to treatment and wraparound services.
