Expansion of Faith-Based Support Specialist Training
The Agency for Substance Abuse Prevention (ASAP) will partner with state health departments and faith-based organizations to bring its Faith-Based Support Specialist (FBSS) training to new states. The two-day program is designed to educate faith-based leaders on how to better engage individuals with substance use disorders and direct them to local supports. ASAP will continue to offer its training program in Alabama, and will expand into new states as it builds a network of faith-based leaders trained to raise of awareness of substance issues and advocate for bringing FBSS trainings to more locales across the nation.
