Sustaining Whole Person Care for People with Opioid Use Disorder: Exploring Alternative Payment Models for Acute Care Admission and Outpatient Bridging Services — Phase 1: Establishing Delivery Model Outcomes
Thomas Jefferson University will evaluate whether patients with substance use disorders who received care through Jefferson Addiction Multidisciplinary Services — a medical home that relies on a multidisciplinary team to coordinate the care people receive in inpatient and outpatient settings — have better treatment outcomes and lower health care utilization than patients received care through traditional pathways. The results will inform the potential future development of an alternative payment model that supports the integration of clinical care and community recovery support resources.
